International Youth Day - The Road to 2030

August 12th 2016, Hódmezővásárhely, Hungary

AEBR Centre for Balkans in cooperation with CESCI Balkans celebrated the UN International Youth Day in Hódmezővásárhely, Hungary. This year’s theme was: ‘The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production’. The celebration started with a lecture given by Mr. Marko Šlocer discussing poverty, sustainable production and consumption. The lecture introduced some of the basic terms such as: Extreme poverty, Poverty line, Sustainable Development Goals etc. Later on the discussion elaborated on how young people can participate in achieving sustainability and helping to reduce poverty. At the end participants made posters with their “promises” on how they plan to contribute in achieving 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
