Legal Accessibility - Serbia’s participation in European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) and Euroregional Cooperation Grouping (ECG)

New opportunities in cross-border cooperation in the Balkans International Conference

On the 20th of November 2017 CESCI, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice Hungary, Parliament of Vojvodina AP, AEBR Balkans (Association of European Border Regions), and responsible authorities from Serbia, will be organising an international conference in Novi Sad (Serbia) at the Assembly Hall of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The conference “New opportunities in cross-border cooperation on the Balkans” will focus on Legal Accessibility - Serbia’s participation in European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) and Euroregional Cooperation Grouping (ECG) with the following overall objectives:

  • Understand the benefits and potentials of cross-border structures such as EGTC’s and ECG’s with specific focus on the Balkans and Serbia

  • Promote and discuss the final results of the Legal Accessibility Initiative. Analysis of the Serbian legislation and regulatory framework ratifying the Madrid Outline Convention Drawing up an implementing regulation, legislative proposal in compliance with Serbian legislation, and in line with the correspondent EU regulation

Speakers at the conference will include amongst others the Council of Europe, Committee of the Regions, AEBR (Association of European Border Regions), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hungary, responsible Ministries from Serbia, and the Government of Vojvodina AP.
