CESCI Balkans, branch office of the Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives, started its operation at the beginning of 2015, with the aim of strengthening mutual understanding and tolerance between nations, following the French and Hungarian practices and experience, involving experts from the neighbouring countries. The official opening of the office was held on 7 September 2015, in Novi Sad. At the ceremony, speeches were given by Gyula Ocskay, Secretary General of the CESCI; Branislav Bugarski, Secretary for Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government Province of Vojvodina; Martin Guillermo-Ramirez, Secretary General of the AEBR; and Ervin Erős, Director of CESCI Balkans. Several representatives of Serbian, Hungarian and European institutions attended the official opening of the office in Novi Sad, with the participation of more than 100 domestic and foreign guests.
