EGTC GO kick of event on pilot projects in ITI
The EGCT GO hosted the kick-off event to launch the two pilot actions included in the ITI operation; the “Isonzo-Soča cross-border park” and “Salute-Zdravsto – Creation of a network of cross-border health services”.
Experts in the field of cohesion policy, including a Member of the European Committee of the Regions, Mr Adam Karácsony, Rapporteur on CoR Opinion on the EC Communication “Growth and Cohesion in border regions”, director of CESCI Balkans, Mr Ervin Erős participated in the panel discussion on the future of cross-border cooperation in the light of the White Paper on Future of Europe. The panellists reflected on cross-border policy, shared their personal experiences, and offered insights on the future EU programming.
In order to emphasize the idea and the importance of the cooperation between Italy and Slovenia, the event was held at the Europe Square, which a public square split between towns of Gorizia (Italy) and Nova Gorica (Slovenia).
The Mayors of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba as well as Mr Robert Golob, President of the EGTC GO and Ms Sara Vito, Councillor for the environment and energy of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia opened the session, greeting the audience.
The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor, delivered the keynote address.
